REAL-LIFE THRILLER MOMENT: I’ve been set on fire, hit by cars and thrown down stairs (for money) as a stuntman, but I had to do a 30 foot highfall into a lake with my hands tied behind me in a film. It was a little hairy –and a low budget film (they had no diver in the water) so there was a few moments of more of a thrill when I hit the ice cold water than I would have liked. (Spoiler alert: I did live) but it’s one of the only two times I wrote a will before a stunt…no bull…
WHO I ADMIRE: I have a pal, Jaime, who has been dealing with a deliberating disease for years—had an amputation—been sent to hospice twice and said “NO!” and pushed on to come back. He inspires me every day to keep creating—because he does.
I try to put that into my heroes—the ‘I will not go gently into the night” quality.
FAVORITE MEDIA MOMENT: Wayne Carey’s Death Waits in Shanghai novel was a great thriller book. There are so many moments of tension and action in it that it would be impossible to choose.
WHAT I’M WORKING ON: I’m working on the second book in my Altiva S & S epic fantasy series – lots of sword swinging and high-risk moments! The first book is Journey to Stormrest: Chroicles of Altiva Book One and is followed up directly with The Battle for Stormrest which should be out in late 2024….
